Controlling Dimensions: Reclaiming Spiritual Authority Over Every Realm of Your Life
Believers have been given dominion over spiritual dimensions — and most have surrendered it without knowing.
Life is not primarily physical — it is spiritual. Every visible thing was made from invisible substance, and the battles you face are never merely natural. Until believers understand that they exist simultaneously in three realms — spirit, soul, and body — and that each realm must be actively governed, they will continue to survive when God designed them to dominate.
Teaching Overview
- Life is fundamentally spiritual — everything God created carries spiritual substance, and the visible world was made from invisible dimensions.
- Believers are called to exercise dominion and control over spiritual dimensions, not merely to pray about what God has already given them authority to govern.
- Adam's dominion meant Satan had no atmospheric control — sin transferred that control, and Christ restores it.
- Man exists as spirit, soul, and body — three beings in three distinct realms — and each must be actively governed or another will govern it.
- Failing to control your spiritual atmosphere means your prayers may be answered but never received, your assignments blocked, and your life managed by forces you have authority over but have never exercised.
Key Distinctions
| Creating | Making | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Bringing something into spiritual existence from God's own essence | Causing what already spiritually exists to appear in the physical realm |
| When it occurs | Before time — Genesis 1, outside of chronological sequence | Within time — Genesis 2, when the physical dimension is formed |
| Scriptural location | Genesis 1 | Genesis 2 |
| Relationship to visibility | Produces spiritual substance not yet physically present | Transfers what was already created into visible, earthly form |
| Example | God created plants before they were in the earth | God caused them to grow when a man tilled the ground |
| Authority | Power | |
|---|---|---|
| Source | Always from above — God is the author of all authority | Delegated or seized — can be exercised without legitimate appointment |
| Who holds it | God, and those to whom He delegates | Can be claimed by Satan, but only where humans have surrendered control |
| In the Garden | Adam held full atmospheric authority | Satan had no power because Adam controlled every dimension |
| After the Fall | Humanity lost atmospheric control | Satan gained functional power by occupying vacated dimensions |
| In Christ | Restored to the believer — seated in heavenly places | Exercised when the believer actively governs their spiritual atmosphere |
| Spirit | Soul | Body | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nature | Fully spiritual — the innermost man | Spiritual in nature but not the spirit — exists in a distinct soulish realm | Physical — exists in the earthly, visible dimension |
| Realm | Heavenly places — seated with Christ Jesus | The soulish dimension — a completely different reality from the spirit | The physical world |
| State at new birth | Reborn, alive in God | Being renewed and transformed | Still located in the earth |
| State without Christ | Dead — does not exist in the spirit world | A slave in the soul realm | Appears free in the physical world |
| How God communicates | Directly — spirit to Spirit | Through understanding, angels, explanation, soul-level revelation | Does not primarily communicate here |
| What can be destroyed | Cannot be destroyed by man or Satan | Can be destroyed by God | Can be destroyed by man or Satan |
| Prayer Before the Fall | Prayer After the Fall | |
|---|---|---|
| Basis | Not required — dominion and access were already possessed | Arose as a result of the fall — a consequence of lost control |
| Function | God expected man to access and govern what He had bestowed | Petition replaces possession — asking for what should already be exercised |
| Indicator | Reflects full redemption — believer operates from a position of authority | Can indicate a believer has not yet fully understood their restored position in Christ |
| Problem | None — it was never the primary mode of relating to God | Becomes a substitute for spiritual governance when misunderstood |
| Spiritual Dimension | Physical Dimension | |
|---|---|---|
| Priority | Primary — all things originate here | Secondary — things appear here from the spiritual |
| What it contains | The substance of all created things before they manifest | The visible expression of what was already spiritually real |
| Who should govern it | The believer, in Christ, by the Spirit | The believer, through physical action — tilling, subduing, multiplying |
| When ungoverned | Demonic forces occupy and control it | Physical life becomes chaotic, blocked, and resistant |
| Scriptural example | Plants existed spiritually before appearing on earth (Genesis 2) | Plants grew only when man tilled the ground |
| Survival | Deliverance | |
|---|---|---|
| What it means | Remaining alive and functional within a spiritually hostile environment | Being fully freed from the control of demonic forces over one's atmosphere |
| Biblical example | Daniel — lived to old age in Babylon, served every government, remained faithful | Daniel never achieved — he was constantly rescued but never fully freed from Babylonian spiritual dominion |
| Spiritual condition | Prayers are answered, God intervenes, but the atmosphere remains under enemy control | The believer governs their own spiritual atmosphere so that no enemy can occupy it |
| End result | A faithful life marked by recurring attacks and divine rescue | A life of dominion where hard work produces consistent results with no spiritual opposition |
Life Is Fundamentally Spiritual
- Everything God created carries spiritual substance — visible and invisible things alike originate in the spiritual realm before they appear in the physical.
- Hebrews 11:3 declares that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear — the physical world is a manifestation of a pre-existing spiritual reality.
- The battle believers face is never physical — just because something appears in the natural does not identify what is actually being fought.
"Just because something appears does not mean that's what you're fighting against because the battle you have is a spiritual battle never a physical battle."
Creating and Making Are Not the Same
- Genesis 1 records God creating — bringing things into spiritual existence — while Genesis 2 records God making — causing what was spiritually created to appear in the physical dimension.
- In the spiritual dimension, entire generations had already occurred before a single day had passed on the earth — time begins in Genesis 2, not Genesis 1.
- Every plant existed spiritually before it was in the earth and before it grew — it was transferred from one dimension into another, not originated in the ground.
"In the spiritual dimension, there are already generations that have happened but on the earth is just the day that the Lord made the heavens and the earth."
Adam Held Dominion — Not Duty to Pray
- God's command to Adam was not to pray but to subdue and have dominion — over the sea, the air, the ground, and every living thing within each realm.
- Adam's control of the airways meant Satan — already present in the garden — could exercise no atmospheric authority whatsoever.
- God never warned Adam about Satan because Satan controlled no spiritual dimension and posed no threat while Adam occupied his God-given position.
"God never demanded them to pray. God wanted them to learn how to access what God bestowed upon them."
Prayer as Consequence, Not Original Design
- Prayer, as most believers practice it — petitioning God for what they do not have — was a result of the fall, not God's original design for relating to humanity.
- A believer who prays about everything God has already given them authority to govern has become a beggar rather than a spiritual governor.
- There is a way of praying that reveals a believer has been fully restored in Christ — and a way of praying that reveals they are still operating from a fallen posture.
"Most Christians have become beggars thinking they're prayer warriors."
"Most of you don't understand that prayer was a result of the fall."
How Satan Became the God of This World
- Satan entered the garden with no power to blind minds, no ability to control spiritual dimensions, and no authority over any realm — he was merely a serpent.
- When Adam and Eve sinned, they lost control of the spiritual dimensions they had been governing — and Satan, knowing those dimensions, moved into the vacuum they left.
- Demons appear powerful only to those who have surrendered control of their spiritual atmosphere — their power is not inherent but occupational.
"The demons that you think are powerful in your life, they are only powerful because they are controlling the dimensions. You are not."
Correcting False Doctrine About Satan
- Satan was not the highest cherubim, not the closest angel to God, and not the worship leader of heaven — none of these claims have scriptural support.
- The seraphim, not cherubim, are the ones who sing holy, holy, holy day and night — Satan led no heavenly worship.
- Satan's plan to ascend to the high heavens, recorded in Ezekiel, proves he was never there — he had never encountered God directly and was of very low rank in the heavenly order.
"Stop giving the devil things that God never gave to him."
"The only one close to God is Jesus."
Man Exists in Three Realms — Each Must Be Governed
- Man is spirit, soul, and body — three distinct beings occupying three different dimensions simultaneously, each with its own reality and set of rules.
- The soul is spiritual in nature but is not the spirit — it exists in a separate soulish realm with a completely different set of realities than the spirit.
- Failing to govern each dimension leaves it open for occupation — a person can be spiritually dead in the spirit realm, enslaved in the soul realm, and appear entirely free in the physical world.
"Man is spirit, soul and body. There is three of you in three different worlds that you need to control."
"Just because your body is animated and your soul feels religious doesn't mean you have encountered God because an encounter with God is only in the spirit."
The Case of Daniel: Survival Without Deliverance
- Daniel was a righteous man, highly esteemed by God, faithful in prayer and fasting — yet he never controlled the spiritual atmosphere of Babylon in which he was planted.
- When God answered Daniel's prayer, Daniel could not receive the answer because his spiritual atmosphere was controlled by another entity — the Prince of Persia held Gabriel at the boundary for 21 days.
- Daniel survived to old age in Babylon but was never delivered from it — he is a warning that faithfulness before God does not automatically produce atmospheric control.
"Even though he was a prayerful man even though he was highly esteemed of God he still did not take care of the spiritual issues that was surrounding his life."
"What he had was enough to save himself, but not to deliver himself."
Governing Your Atmosphere Changes Everything
- When a believer does not control their spiritual atmosphere, answered prayers go unreceived, angels are blocked, and repeated demonic attacks continue despite genuine faithfulness.
- When a believer governs their atmosphere by the Spirit of God, hard work turns to hardly working — every action bears results because there is no spiritual opposition blocking it.
- The issue is never the natural circumstances — it is always whether the believer has taken charge of the spiritual realm surrounding their life.
"You can serve God all your life and you will go to heaven, but you never controlled your spiritual atmosphere and you will struggle."

Key Definitions
Dimension — A distinct realm of spiritual or physical reality that exists independently and must be actively governed; things created in one dimension must be transferred into another to manifest.
Creating — The act of bringing something into existence in the spiritual realm from God's own essence, prior to time and prior to physical manifestation.
Making — The act of causing what already spiritually exists to appear in a physical or lower dimension; distinct from creating.
Dominion — The God-given authority and active governance of every spiritual realm surrounding one's life — not passive ownership but continuous, intentional control.
Soul — The soulish dimension of man — spiritual in nature but distinct from the spirit — which exists in its own realm, experiences salvation, grows in understanding, and is the seat of comprehension and conscious experience.
Survival vs. Deliverance — Survival is remaining alive and functional within a spiritually hostile atmosphere; deliverance is the full liberation from enemy control over the dimensions of one's life.
Atmospheric Control — The spiritual governance of the invisible realm surrounding one's life; whoever holds control of this atmosphere determines what manifests, what is received, and what is blocked in the physical world.
Key Takeaways
- Life is fundamentally spiritual, not physical — every strategy, battle, and breakthrough originates in an invisible dimension, and believers who ignore this remain permanently reactive instead of governing.
- Adam's dominion was atmospheric, not merely positional — his authority over sea, air, and ground meant no demonic force could operate in those realms, and Christ has restored that same authority to the believer.
- Prayer was a consequence of the fall, not God's original design — a believer who only petitions without exercising spiritual governance remains in a fallen posture regardless of their sincerity.
- Man exists in three realms simultaneously — and each one requires active governance — neglecting the spirit or soul realm while only managing the physical produces a life of visible struggle driven by invisible occupation.
- Daniel's faithfulness saved him but never freed him — his life demonstrates that knowing God, praying consistently, and being highly esteemed is not the same as controlling your spiritual atmosphere.
Reflection Questions
- In which areas of your life are you petitioning God for things He has already given you authority to govern — and what would it look like to shift from praying about those areas to taking spiritual charge of them?
- Are you surviving in your current circumstances — going through repeated attacks, divine rescues, and the same recurring struggles — or are you exercising the kind of atmospheric control that produces consistent fruit?
- Where have you unconsciously allowed demonic forces to occupy spiritual dimensions in your life — your mind, your household, your finances, your relationships — through ignorance or inactivity rather than any deliberate choice?
- Daniel was righteous, faithful, and highly esteemed by God — yet he did not control his spiritual atmosphere. What does that say about whether your spiritual disciplines alone are sufficient to produce the life God designed for you?
- If you truly exist as spirit, soul, and body in three distinct realms — what are you actively doing to govern each one, and which realm have you been entirely neglecting?
