How To Get Everything You Want: Entering Into Sonship and Receiving Your Full Inheritance

How To Get Everything You Want: Entering Into Sonship and Receiving Your Full Inheritance

Teaching by Prophet Lovy L. Elias · Watch on YouTube · 18 November 2025

Everything God has is already yours — not through prayer and striving, but through becoming a son.

The greatest shift in a believer's life is not a change in circumstances — it is a change in identity. God is not withholding blessing from you; He is waiting for you to enter into sonship, where everything He has becomes your inheritance. What you want is not a prayer away. It is a transformation of the mind.

Teaching Overview

  1. God's blessings flow from His own agenda, and believers are benefactors of that agenda — not the motivation for it.
  2. Belief in God and faith in God are fundamentally different: believing is an acknowledgment of who God is, while faith is entering into sonship and becoming a son who pleases God by virtue of belonging to Him.
  3. Righteousness is not behavior or works — righteousness is Jesus Christ Himself, and God has always blessed out of love, mercy, and compassion, not out of human performance.
  4. Faith is not a spiritual exercise for receiving things; it is a consistent life of dwelling in God's house where thanksgiving replaces begging because you already have your inheritance.
  5. When you enter into sonship, you stop asking God for what you already possess and begin living from a place of abundance — giving from what you have rather than praying for what you lack.

Key Distinctions

BeliefFaith
What it isKnowing that God is God — acknowledging His existence and essenceEntering into sonship; becoming a child of God who pleases Him by virtue of belonging to Him
Who also has itSatan believes in God and trembles before HimOnly sons operate in faith; Satan is not a son
How it functionsProduces results when you pray and believe — God responds to believingIs not primarily about receiving; it is about who you are in God
Its consistencyInconsistent — emotions, circumstances, and physical state cause it to fluctuateConsistent — it is a steady state of dwelling in God's house daily
What it producesAsking, seeking, petitioning God for thingsThanksgiving, giving from what you have, praying as a son not a beggar
Its limitationCan be shaken by depression, grief, memory, or physical weaknessNot subject to emotional fluctuation because it is positional, not experiential
Praying as a BeggarPraying as a Son
PostureHoping God will do something for youKnowing your portion is secure and praying from that position
What it sounds like"Father, protect me. Father, bless me. Father, give me.""Father, I thank you that I am healed. Father, I thank you that my territory is filled."
What it revealsYou have not yet entered into sonshipYou have entered into the inheritance Christ secured for you
ExampleBegging at the gate for silver and gold"Silver and gold I don't have, but what I have I give you"
Righteousness by WorksRighteousness as Jesus Christ
DefinitionLiving morally — not stealing, not lying, praying, giving almsJesus Christ Himself is your righteousness
Its limitationEven non-believers can be morally virtuous without GodNo good exists apart from God; moral virtue does not satisfy God's standard
How God respondsGod has never given anyone anything because of how they liveGod blesses because of His love, mercy, and compassion
Its dangerCreates the illusion that performance earns God's favourMissing this means missing sonship entirely

God's Agenda and Man's Role as Benefactor

  • God's decision to bless and enlarge territory is not motivated by human need — it is motivated by His own agenda and the expansion of His kingdom.
  • Believers are benefactors of God's agenda — they benefit from what God is doing for His own purposes.
  • God created man in His image and gave him dominion, fruitfulness, and the mandate to multiply and subdue the earth — to expand physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.

"When God comes and promises something, He's not motivated by you, He's motivated by his agenda. God is in for himself first. We just happen to be benefactors, that is a good God."

God Sees You as a Solution, Not a Problem

  • God rested when He created man — man is the answer to what God wanted to achieve on the earth.
  • Believers have been taught to see themselves as problems running to God for solutions, but God sees man as a reflection of Himself — a solution to His earth problem.
  • Satan disrupted what God established, and God's response was to duplicate Himself through man.

"God sees you as a solution to his earth problem."

The Difference Between Belief and Faith

  • To believe God is to take Him at His word based on His track record — it is necessary and important, but it is not faith.
  • Satan believes in God and trembles before Him — his belief did not make him righteous or a son.
  • Belief is inconsistent because it is tied to emotion, and human emotions fluctuate based on both what is seen and what is felt.

"To believe God is not faith. Like an example, James says, you believe God, Satan does to, in fact, he trembles before him."

Faith Is Sonship, Not a Spiritual Exercise

  • Without faith it is impossible to please God — and the only person who ever truly pleased God was Jesus Christ, meaning faith is entering into what Christ accomplished.
  • Faith is not about receiving things — it is about becoming a son and entering a world where everything God has is yours by inheritance.
  • When you become a son, you please God not because of what you have done, but simply by virtue of belonging to Him.

"Faith is when you become a son... And everything that God has is yours, because you have pleased them by virtue of just being his."

Jesus Never Asked "Do You Have Faith?" — He Asked "Do You Believe?"

  • When Jesus ministered on earth, He never demanded faith from anyone — He always asked whether people believed, because they had not yet become sons.
  • If the people He ministered to had already been sons, they would not have been asking for healing or deliverance — those would already have been their portion.
  • When Jesus called a generation "faithless," He was not criticising their belief — He was grieving that they did not want to become sons and please God.

"Healing is the children's bread. Blessing is the children's bread. When you become a coheir with Christ, everything that he has is yours."

Righteousness Is Jesus Christ, Not Behavior

  • God has never given anyone anything because of how they live — He has always blessed out of His love, mercy, and compassion.
  • Even non-believers can be morally virtuous — virtue alone does not satisfy God's standard because there is no good apart from God.
  • Following God's ways is not a list of moral requirements — it is discovering His will and walking in His patterns.

"Righteousness is not what you do. Righteousness is Jesus Christ Himself. Jesus Christ is our righteousness."

Faith Is a Consistent Life in God's House

  • Belief is inconsistent because it is governed by emotional and physical states that change daily — it cannot sustain a life of receiving.
  • Faith is waking up in God's house every day and seeing God every day — it is a consistent, steady state of dwelling with Him.
  • When you live in this state, you become so blessed in God's house that you wonder what it is like to live outside of it.

"Be so blessed being in God's house that you wonder what it is like to live outside of God's house."

The Life of Thanksgiving vs. The Life of Begging

  • When you enter into sonship, you stop petitioning God for what you already have and begin living in thanksgiving.
  • Peter told the man at the gate: "Silver and gold I don't have, but what I have I give you" — this is sonship: giving from what you already possess rather than asking for what you lack.
  • A son does not pray for protection the way a beggar does — he knows his portion is secure and acknowledges God as the One who watches over him.

"Why am I praying for something I can just reach out and give you? That is sonship."

God's Timeline and the Role of the Believer

  • Every time God promises, He uses the future tense — "You shall be blessed, I shall increase you" — but the timing is determined by when the believer enters into sonship.
  • God's promise to Sarah did not fail — He was waiting for her to enter into the promise and become the promise before He visited her as He had spoken.
  • The believer determines how quickly the promise manifests — whether in hours, years, or decades — not God.

"God was waiting for her to enter into the promise and become the promise... You can determine whether it will happen in a few hours, a few minutes, 10 years, 11 years, 100 years, it's you, not him."

What You Want Is a Transformation of the Mind

  • Unlearning old patterns is necessary for increase — what has been practised in the wrong way has become deeply ingrained and must be undone.
  • The territory, the blessing, the desire of your heart — all of it is accessible the moment you enter into the understanding that it is already yours.
  • What you want is not a prayer away — it is a transformation of the mind.

"What you want is not a prayer away. It's a transformation of the mind."

Key Definitions

Belief (in God) — Knowing that God is God; having no doubt in His existence or His essence. It is necessary and produces results when you pray, but it is not faith and is inconsistent because it is tied to fluctuating human emotions.

Faith — Entering into sonship with God. When you become a son, you have pleased God by virtue of belonging to Him, and everything He has becomes your inheritance. It is not a spiritual exercise for receiving things — it is a consistent state of dwelling in God's house.

Sonship — The position of being a child of God through Christ, where blessing, healing, and provision are your portion by inheritance rather than by petition. Sons do not beg; they give from what they already have.

Righteousness — Not a standard of moral behaviour or works. Righteousness is Jesus Christ Himself. God has never blessed anyone because of how they live — He blesses because of His love, mercy, and compassion.

Faith as God's Timeline — God's promises are stated in the future tense, but their fulfilment is determined by when the believer enters into sonship. The believer — not God — determines how quickly a promise manifests.

Faithless Generation — Jesus' indictment in the Gospels was not a critique of people's intellectual belief in God. It was grief that people did not want to become sons, did not want to please God, and did not want to enter into the inheritance He came to make available.

Key Takeaways

  • God blesses from His own agenda, and believers are benefactors — understanding this removes the false idea that God blesses in proportion to human need or human performance.
  • Belief and faith are not the same thing — confusing them keeps believers in a cycle of inconsistent receiving, because belief fluctuates with emotion while faith is a steady positional reality.
  • Righteousness is Jesus Christ, not moral behavior — any theology that ties God's blessing to human conduct misses the entire foundation of grace and sonship.
  • Faith is a consistent life in God's house, not a technique for receiving — when you dwell in sonship, thanksgiving replaces begging and giving replaces asking.
  • The timing of God's promises is in your hands, not His — God is ready; the question is when you will enter into the understanding that what He promised is already yours.

Reflection Questions

  1. In your prayer life, are you approaching God as a son who already has an inheritance, or as a beggar hoping God will act on your behalf? What specifically in your prayers reveals which posture you are operating from?
  2. Where in your life has your believing been inconsistent because your emotions were inconsistent? What would it look like for you to move from that fluctuating belief into the steady state of sonship that faith represents?
  3. Have you been measuring your standing with God by your moral behavior — how much you pray, give, or avoid sin? How does the truth that righteousness is Jesus Christ Himself, not your conduct, change the way you see yourself before God?
  4. What is one thing you have been praying for repeatedly that, according to this teaching, may already be part of your inheritance as a son? What would it take for you to stop asking and begin giving thanks as though you already have it?
  5. The promise God made to Sarah took longer than it needed to because she had not yet entered into the promise herself. Is there a promise in your life that has been delayed — and if so, what transformation of the mind is God waiting for in you before He visits you as He has spoken?

Prayers and Declarations

Opening Prayer

"Father, we thank you in the name of Jesus. We thank you for who you are. We thank you for your mercy. We thank you for your love. We thank you for the grace you have accorded us to be in your presence. Father glorify yourself now. Forgive us, you refias, that we may receive your grace in your mercy today. Thank you for this amazing day and we thank you for the rain because it means growth has come Father, we receive it as your voice today That you have become you have begun a new thing in our lives and each shall be fulfilled That all that you have planted in us Father will begin to show forth now in the mighty name of Jesus."

Say this after me:

"In the name of Jesus. I have everything that God says I have. In the name of Jesus. I am everything that God says I am. Amen."
