Redeemed: The Foundational Power of Honor

Redeemed: The Foundational Power of Honor

Teaching by Prophet Lovy L. Elias · Watch on YouTube · 24 April 2026

Honor is the gateway to receiving blessing, accessing grace, and walking in the power God has placed in His appointed servants.

Honor is not merely respect or praise—it is worship itself. Understanding this distinction transforms how believers receive blessing, access divine grace, and position themselves under the power God has invested in His appointed leaders. The church's powerlessness, the withdrawal of grace, and the failure to fulfill divine purpose stem directly from a misunderstanding of what honor truly is and how it operates in the spiritual economy of God's kingdom.

Teaching Overview

  1. Honor is the recognition of who God has called and appointed a person to be—it is worship, not praise, and requires distinguishing between the honor given to God and the honor given to His chosen vessels.
  2. Receiving blessing from God's appointed servants requires understanding honor as the spiritual currency through which grace flows from the anointed to those who recognize the anointing.
  3. Grace operates independently from repentance and can be withdrawn when honor is violated, as demonstrated in King Saul's loss of the throne despite his prophetic gift remaining by imputation.
  4. Kneeling to parents, spiritual fathers, and leaders is an act of honor showing humility and love, fundamentally different from the kneeling of worship offered to God alone in submission to His power and glory.
  5. The virtues and grace resting upon God's appointed servants are transferred to those who honor them, while dishonor breaks the connection and returns the honored one to ground zero spiritually.
  6. True love is rooted in honor—it covers sin without tolerating it, creating protection and space for a person to repent and restore themselves before God in secret rather than public humiliation.
  7. Greatness comes through grace received over time and longevity in obedience, not through gifts and abilities alone, making the honor of those with greater grace essential to the believer's own spiritual advancement.
  8. Undermining others—whether publicly revealing their dependencies or destroying their reputations—violates the principle of honor and opens them to demonic attack and loss of effectiveness in ministry.
  9. The church's adoption of dishonor, the blurring of distinctions (through titles and roles), and the destruction of proper order create spiritual openings for demons and result in the absence of God's blessing.

Understanding the Language and Practice of Honor

  • Honor means worship in its original rendering—it is the recognition of what God has placed in a person, not mere praise or respect.
  • The kind of worship given to humans through honor can never equal or compare to the worship given to God, yet false humility prevents believers from offering proper honor to God's appointed servants.
  • When God lifts a person into a position or anoints them with a calling, He Himself is honoring them; to dishonor what God honors is to offend God directly.

"Honor actually means worship, recognizing a person for who they are or what God has made them to be."

"You can never honor a man like you would honor God."

"If you worship a man the way you would worship God then you have never worshipped in your life."

The Spiritual Mystery of Receiving Blessing

  • The mystery of receiving blessing from a prophet or woman of God is simple: honor.
  • When honor is given to God's appointed servant, the one who honors acknowledges that what God has placed in that person is divine and that God has glorified Himself through them.
  • Without honor toward God's chosen vessels, the believer severs access to the blessing and grace God has made available through them.

"The secret is simple. Honor."

"The Lord cannot bless you without his servants."

"If you receive a prophet in the name of a prophet then you shall receive the prophet's reward."

Kneeling as Honor, Not Worship

  • Kneeling to a spiritual father, spiritual mother, or leader is an act of honor expressing humility and love for having birthed, trained, or shaped you spiritually and morally.
  • Kneeling to God is fundamentally different—the believer bows not only with knees but with soul and spirit in submission to God's power and glory as Creator and Redeemer.
  • The failure to distinguish between kneeling (honor) and worship (sole submission to God) reveals a fundamental misunderstanding of worship itself.

"Kneeling is not worship, it's honour."

"If you don't understand honor, you have never worshipped God."

"When I bow before God, I don't just bow with my knees, I bow with my soul and my spirit in submission to the power and glory of God because God is my creator."

Grace as a Non-Repentant Gift

  • Grace is extended by God as a gift but operates without repentance—meaning it can be withdrawn if violated, unlike spiritual gifts which remain even after sin.
  • King Saul lost the grace that made him king when he dishonored his spiritual father Samuel by rejecting correction, and that grace was immediately transferred to David.
  • When grace is withdrawn, the anointed person may retain gifts and abilities but loses the power, effectiveness, and blessing that grace provides—resulting in spiritual emptiness and disconnection from God's voice.

"Grace has no repentance."

"The faucet of grace can be shut."

"God didn't just take his spirit. God took his grace that made him king and he gave that grace to a shepherd boy."

The Transfer of Virtue Through Honor

  • When a believer genuinely honors someone through whom God works—recognizing the divine calling and anointing in them—the virtue resting upon that person transfers to the one who honors.
  • This transfer is not a spiritual gift earned by the honorer but a byproduct of their recognition of what God has placed in the honored one and their submission to that anointing.
  • The moment honor is violated or withdrawn through dishonor, the spiritual connection breaks and the transfer ceases—the person returns to "ground zero" spiritually.

"If I genuinely honour a woman of God, if I genuinely give the honour that is due her, the virtue that is on her comes upon me."

"The day I dishonor her is also the day that honor that was lifting me is disconnected from me. I go back to ground zero."

Love Covers Rather Than Exposes

  • True love is rooted in honor and operates by covering sin—not tolerating it, but creating a protective barrier that allows the offender space to repent and restore themselves before God in private.
  • Public correction and exposure of another's sin, rather than private correction followed by public praise, crushes self-esteem and violates the principle of honor embedded in genuine love.
  • When believers understand that they themselves have been forgiven much by God, they recognize the debt of mercy they owe to others and extend the same covering love.

"Love covers a multitude of sins."

"It shields him from the world for him to get himself together."

"I will correct them in secret. In ending the public, I will praise them."

Greatness Comes Through Grace, Not Gifts

  • Greatness is not produced by spiritual gifts, abilities, or supernatural power, but by grace—the favor and longevity God extends to those who walk in obedience over extended seasons.
  • A person with greater grace but fewer gifts may accomplish more and remain effective longer than one with abundant gifts but limited grace, because grace is what sustains and multiplies ministry over time.
  • The believer who desires to advance spiritually must honor those who have greater grace, regardless of whether they possess greater gifting, in order to glean wisdom and access the spiritual advancement grace produces.

"Greatness does not come because of gifts. Greatness comes because of grace."

"They have longevity that I don't have. And because I have no experience, I don't even know if I'm going to get there."

Honor as the Foundation of Distinction and Order

  • Honor operates by recognizing and maintaining the distinctions God Himself establishes—the difference between pastor and congregation, prophet and hearer, father and child—and it is this recognition that prevents spiritual confusion.
  • The corruption of the soul and the destruction of proper spiritual order begin when honor—the recognition of divinely appointed distinction—is dismantled in the name of equality or false humility.
  • Titles and roles exist to reveal function and purpose, not to elevate one person above another in human worth, but to establish the divine order through which God's power flows and protection operates.

"Honour has no expiration date."

"Honour is the distinction. It is the thing that God has been told in some somebody that differentiates them from the other."

"Corruption of the soul begins by destroying honour."

The Consequences of Dishonor and Undermining

  • Undermining others—whether by publicly revealing the sources of their knowledge, exposing their dependencies, or destroying their reputations—opens them to demonic attack and severs the blessing and effectiveness God has placed upon them.
  • Even unintentional undermining, such as allowing others to discover the source of a minister's teaching or revelation, can destroy their credibility and authority in the eyes of those who were meant to be blessed through them.
  • The goal of a mentor or father in ministry must always be to build others up for their own future success and effectiveness, protecting their reputation and authority so they may walk without shame in the calling God has given them.

"I never want anybody in the world to undermine you."

"My goal is to equip them, build them up that they can be giants tomorrow."

"My goal is never for anybody to be undermined when they are serving God."

Honor Toward All God's Appointed Servants

  • Believers are commanded to honor their father and mother, and by extension, spiritual fathers and spiritual mothers—those God has placed in positions to train, correct, and guide them toward their destiny.
  • The secret to long life, peace, and open doors is honor—it is the currency through which God's blessing flows and the foundation upon which His protection rests.
  • Maintaining honor through consistent giving, prayer, and recognition toward those who have impacted one's spiritual life preserves the connection through which grace flows and prevents its withdrawal.

"The Bible does not say praise your Father and Mother... He says, Honour your father and mother."

"The secret to long life is Honour. The secret to peace in life is Honour. The secret to open doors is Honour."

"Never undermine anybody."

The Church's Power Depends on Walking in Honor

  • If the church walked in honor, demons would have no foothold and no place of operation within believers' lives.
  • If the church understood and practiced honor toward God's appointed leaders and servants, the blessing of God would never be absent and grace would flow without interruption.
  • The powerlessness of the modern church and the prevalence of demonic activity within congregations are direct results of believers' failure to honor those God has anointed and appointed to lead.

"If the church would walk in honor, Demons will have no place."

"If the church would walk in honour, there would be no absence of the blessing of God."

False Humility as Rejection of Identity in God

  • False humility—the refusal to acknowledge the calling and anointing God has placed upon a person—is actually a rejection of who God has made that person to be and reflects a failure to understand honor.
  • Walking confidently in one's calling and identity in God is not pride; it is the proper recognition of what God has done, similar to how God Himself makes His boast in the works of His hands.
  • A person who truly understands honor will acknowledge their calling without shame, not out of self-exaltation but out of recognition that their greatness comes from God and belongs to Him.

"False humility means you don't know honour."

"I am the best prophet in this nation. Whether you like it or not that's your story. That's a you problem, not me."

"Make your boast in the Lord."

Key Definitions

Honor — The recognition and worship of what God has placed in a person, revealing their divine calling and anointing; the actual rendering of the word means worship, distinguishing it from praise, and it operates as the spiritual currency through which blessing and grace flow from the anointed to those who recognize the anointing.

Grace — God's unmerited favor and empowerment extended to accomplish His purpose; grace differs from spiritual gifts in that it has no repentance—meaning it can be withdrawn entirely if violated through dishonor, leaving the gifted person spiritually empty and disconnected from God's voice.

Worship — The bowing of soul, spirit, and body in submission to the power, glory, and authority of God as Creator and Redeemer; worship belongs uniquely to God and cannot be offered to humans in the same manner or degree, though honor (a lesser form of worship) may be given to those God has appointed.

Greatness — The measure of one's effectiveness and lasting impact in God's kingdom, produced not by spiritual gifts or abilities but by grace extended over time—longevity in obedience and faithfulness that results in greater spiritual authority and multiplication of ministry.

Virtue — The divine power, anointing, and supernatural ability that God places upon His appointed servants; virtue transfers from the honored to those who give honor, and it is withdrawn when honor is violated.

Distinction — The God-ordained separation between roles, callings, and positions in the spiritual order (such as between prophet and congregation, pastor and member, parent and child); the maintenance of distinction through honor preserves spiritual order and opens channels for God's blessing, while its destruction opens the door for demonic confusion and attack.

Key Takeaways

  • Honor is worship and the gateway to blessing — The failure to understand honor as the recognition of God's work in a person prevents believers from receiving the blessing God has made available through His appointed servants and severs access to grace.

  • Grace operates without repentance and can be withdrawn — Unlike spiritual gifts, which remain after sin, grace is a gift that can be entirely withdrawn if honor is violated, leaving even the gifted spiritually empty and disconnected from God's voice.

  • Greatness comes through grace and longevity, not gifts alone — A person must honor those with greater grace—regardless of their gifting—because grace produces the lasting authority, wisdom, and spiritual advancement that gifts alone cannot achieve.

  • True love is rooted in honor and operates through covering, not exposure — Love that honors protects others' reputations and allows private restoration, while dishonoring love exposes and crushes; this distinction reveals whether a person truly understands love at all.

  • Distinction and order are preserved through honor and violated through dishonor — The maintenance of proper spiritual order (pastor, prophet, parent, leader) depends on believers' recognition of these divinely appointed roles through honor; their destruction through false equality opens the door to demonic confusion and the absence of blessing.

  • The church's power and protection depend entirely on walking in honor — When believers honor God's appointed servants, demons have no foothold and God's blessing flows without interruption; conversely, dishonor is the foundation of the church's powerlessness and demonic infiltration.

  • Walking confidently in God's calling is not pride but proper honor — Acknowledging one's anointing and calling without shame reflects true understanding of honor; false humility that hides one's identity in God is actually a rejection of who God has made a person to be.

Reflection Questions

  1. Who are the people God has placed in your life to train, guide, and shape you spiritually—and are you honoring them with the same recognition you would give to God's work in your own life? What would change if you truly began to see their calling as God's honor upon them?

  2. Where have you been dishonoring others—whether through undermining, exposure, or withholding the recognition due to what God has placed in them—and what spiritual connection have you severed in yourself by doing so?

  3. If greatness comes through grace, not gifts, who are the people with greater grace and longevity in God's kingdom that you should be honoring and learning from—and what is preventing you from doing so?

  4. How does your understanding of honor toward spiritual leaders and mentors affect the way you receive instruction, correction, and blessing from them, and where might false humility be blocking you from accessing grace?

  5. What specific step can you take this week to honor someone God has placed in your life—whether through giving, prayer, recognition, or service—in order to maintain the spiritual connection through which grace flows?
