Releasing the Cullam Pt 1: The Power of Sonship and Spiritual Alignment

Releasing the Cullam Pt 1: The Power of Sonship and Spiritual Alignment

Releasing The Cullam · Part 1 of 3

Part 2
Teaching by Prophet Lovy L. Elias · Watch on YouTube · 16 July 2019

True spiritual power is not seized — it is inherited through sonship, obedience, and alignment with those God has placed over you.

Spiritual authority is not a prize for the independently ambitious — it flows through relationship. The greatest barrier to releasing the anointing God has placed within you is not lack of prayer or effort, but a fundamental misunderstanding of sonship. To release what God has deposited in you, you must first learn what it means to be a son.

Teaching Overview

  1. The greatest deliverance is deliverance from ignorance — spiritual growth depends on possessing spiritual information.
  2. There is a critical difference between being a child of God and being a son of God — sons inherit; children merely exist in the household.
  3. You can never encounter God apart from a man — God always works through human instruments to reveal Himself.
  4. Spiritual alignment with appointed fathers is the pathway to releasing the anointing — independence is a lie from hell.
  5. Mutual indwelling — Jesus in us and us in Him — is the condition for spiritual power; a one-way relationship produces powerless believers.

Deliverance from Ignorance

  • Spiritual growth is determined by the spiritual information you possess — a carnal mind is at enmity with God and cannot receive the things of the Spirit.
  • Faith is not a feeling or an effort — faith is information; knowing what God has spoken that others cannot yet see.
  • God desires to make every believer spiritual, but it is impossible to be spiritual without spiritual information.

"What makes one spiritual is their ability to know spiritual things."

"Faith is information. When you know something that God has spoken, other people don't know, other people cannot see it, but through your situation you see it and you act upon it — you are in faith."

The Difference Between a Child and a Son

  • A child is born — anyone can be a child — but a son is given; a son is one in close relationship with the parent.
  • Many believers are children of God — birthed by salvation — but not sons of God, because they have no close relationship with Him.
  • The men in Revelation who say "Lord, Lord" and are told "depart from Me, I never knew you" are children without relationship — they were born but never entered into sonship.

"Don't be a child of God. Become a son of God. Become one that can inherit what the Father truly has."

"A son simply means one in close relationship with a parent."

The Son Given: Jesus as the Pattern of Sonship

  • Isaiah 9:6 draws the distinction precisely — a child is born, but a son is given; the man Jesus was born, but the Son of God was given.
  • Jesus is called God's only begotten Son because He alone was in the closest relationship with the Father — not because God has no other children, but because none of the others were in that depth of closeness.
  • No angel, no spirit, no manifestation can bring you closer to God the Father than Jesus — He is the only Way because He is the only One who knows the Father in the closest relationship.

"I pray that somebody will have a revelation of Jesus. I pray that somebody will have a revelation of Jesus."

You Can Never See God Apart from a Man

  • God always reveals Himself through human instruments — the invisible God cannot be made known apart from a human vessel bringing you into Him.
  • The reason Jesus became flesh is that it is impossible to enter into what is not human unless another human being brings you into it.
  • Every person who has ever encountered the Lord Jesus has been sent by Him to a man — this is the consistent biblical pattern without exception.

"You can never see God. Apart from a man. It is a man that will introduce you to an invisible God."

"If somebody ever tells you, find God for yourself — it's a lie from hell. It's impossible to find God for yourself."

Jesus Learning Obedience: The Foundation of Sonship

  • Hebrews 5:8 reveals that even the Son of God — the One in closest relationship with the Father — learned obedience through the things He suffered.
  • Jesus, the uncreated Creator, submitted Himself to Joseph and Mary — aligning Himself spiritually with Joseph in order to receive the spiritual heritage of David that ran through Joseph's lineage.
  • The only thing that qualifies one to truly be a son is the ability to follow instruction — power and authority cannot be carried by those who cannot receive correction.

"The uncreated creator is learning obedience. Some of us here, if somebody came and told you do this, you say, that's not for me to do."

"The only thing that qualifies him to really be a son is somebody that can follow instruction."

Spiritual Alignment and the Danger of Independence

  • Unless a believer learns the truth of spiritual alignment, they will remain stuck in one place spiritually — no new level, no new dimension will come.
  • God does not give power to carry out your own will — He gives power to carry out His will, and His will flows through those He has placed in authority over you.
  • The first commandment with a promise — honor your father and mother — reveals that God deliberately attached long life and wellbeing to the act of honoring those placed in authority, not to personal greatness or spiritual experience.

"Unless you come to understand this truth, you will always be somebody who is stuck in one place, spiritually."

Mutual Indwelling: The Condition for Power

  • Jesus declared that apart from mutual indwelling — Him in us and us in Him — nothing of spiritual power is possible.
  • Many Christians are powerless because they have Jesus in them but have never entered into Him — the relationship is one-directional.
  • When mutual indwelling is real, others no longer see the believer — they see Jesus; this is what it means to decrease so that He increases.

"We have a lot of Christians who can do nothing because Jesus is only in them and they are not in Him."

"When people see you, they see Jesus, they no longer see you, they see Him."

The Role of Spiritual Fathers: Biblical Examples

  • Moses would never have become Moses without Jethro — it was Jethro, a priest, who pointed him to the mountain of God and taught him to raise leaders among the people.
  • Samuel heard God's voice but did not know how to respond until Eli taught him — as long as Samuel responded incorrectly, God did not advance the conversation; the moment he obeyed Eli's instruction, the word of God flowed.
  • The disciples became powerful not through independence but by entering into the assignment of the Lord Jesus — they did their Master's will, not their own.

"The voice of God to Samuel always sounded like Eli."

"You can never release the anointing unless you are under authority and in an assignment."

Key Definitions

Sonship — Being one in close relationship with a parent; not merely being born into the family but entering into an intentional, submitted relationship that qualifies you to inherit what the father carries.

Child of God — One who has been birthed by salvation but has not entered into close relationship with God; they are in the household but not in the intimate place where God shares the secrets of His heart.

Faith — Spiritual information acted upon; knowing what God has spoken that others cannot yet see, and living in accordance with that knowledge.

Mutual Indwelling — The condition described in John 15 where Jesus is in the believer and the believer is in Jesus — a two-directional spiritual union that produces true power, as distinct from a one-way relationship where Jesus is received but never fully entered into.

Spiritual Alignment — Submitted relationship with an appointed spiritual father through whom God transmits spiritual heritage, anointing, and authority — the channel through which the anointing is released and received.

Suffering (from Hebrews 5:8 — paschō) — From the Greek paschō, meaning to feel or have a sensible experience, to be affected; not primarily affliction, but the experience of being shaped and formed through submitted alignment with another.

Key Takeaways

  • The greatest deliverance is deliverance from ignorance — spiritual power begins with spiritual information; without it, even sincere believers remain carnal and limited.
  • There is a critical difference between a child of God and a son of God — children are born into the family but sons are given through close relationship; only sons can inherit what the Father truly has.
  • You can never encounter God apart from a man — independence from God's appointed instruments is not spirituality; it is a deception that cuts you off from the very channels through which God releases His anointing.
  • Jesus Himself learned obedience through submission — if the Son of God aligned Himself with Joseph to receive David's spiritual heritage, no believer is exempt from the requirement of spiritual alignment.
  • Power requires mutual indwelling, not one-way relationship — Jesus in you is salvation; you in Jesus is authority; the absence of this two-directional union is why so many believers remain powerless.

Reflection Questions

  1. Are you a child of God or a son of God? What would your level of relationship with God — and with those He has placed over you — honestly indicate?
  2. Who has God placed in your life as a spiritual father or mother? Are you genuinely submitted to them, or are you close in proximity but resistant to correction and instruction?
  3. When correction has come from a spiritual authority in your life, what has been your response? Has that response drawn you closer to or further from the anointing?
  4. In what areas of your spiritual life are you still stuck? What would it look like to move from independence to true spiritual alignment in those areas?
  5. Is your relationship with Jesus truly mutual — are you in Him as well as He being in you? What would it require for you to enter fully into His assignment rather than simply receiving His presence?
