The Four Faces of Man: Becoming the Complete Spiritual Believer

The Four Faces of Man: Becoming the Complete Spiritual Believer

Teaching by Prophet Lovy L. Elias · Watch on YouTube · 26 June 2020

A believer becomes complete only when all four faces of God — the lion, the ox, the man, and the eagle — are fully manifested in their daily spiritual life.

Every creature sent to represent God carries four faces. In the same way, every believer is designed to manifest four dimensions of God's nature — and the results you access in life depend entirely on which face you are operating in. Remaining in only one dimension leaves you incomplete, vulnerable, and unable to reflect the full image of Christ.

Teaching Overview

  1. A believer is called to be spiritual — not merely Christian — and spiritual men alone can access the heavenly dimensions and discernment reserved for those functioning in the full knowledge of God's power.
  2. A complete man manifests all four faces: the lion (authority and boldness), the ox (work and productivity), the man (reasoning and wisdom), and the eagle (vision and spiritual perception).
  3. The lion face is the foundational face for overcoming — without it, no spiritual battle can be won, no mountain moves, and no demonic force submits.
  4. The ox face governs fruitfulness in the natural realm — a Christian who does not operate in the ox nature will remain unproductive regardless of their spiritual gifts.
  5. Becoming fire — not merely being on fire — is the mandate of a complete spiritual man, because fire that has become your nature can never be quenched.

Everything We Do Is About Jesus

  • The purpose of every believer's life, ministry, and activity is to reflect and reveal Christ — anything that does not accomplish this is a waste of time.
  • Just as the moon has no light of its own but illuminates because of the sun, a believer illuminates because of time spent in the presence of God.
  • The word of God covers every single aspect of life — physical, spiritual, emotional, soulish, mental, and social — and nothing falls outside its scope.

"Whatever we do, if it does not reflect or reveal Christ, it is a waste of time. Everything we do is about Jesus. Everything we do is for Jesus. Everything we do is to glorify Jesus."

The Difference Between a Christian and a Spiritual Man

  • God has not called you to be a Christian — He has called you to be spiritual, meaning one who walks in the knowledge and understanding of the power of God.
  • The word "Christian" was originally an insult used to demean and look down on those who followed Jesus, but the Lord took it and glorified it.
  • Spiritual things are discerned by the spiritual — a believer who is not spiritual cannot have the insight or foresight to fully work with God.

"God has not called you to be a Christian. He's called you to be spiritual."

"A man is complete when you become spiritual. That is why the title is the four faces of a man, or the four faces of man. And when I speak about man, I'm saying the complete man."

Adam: The Living Soul Under Construction

  • Adam was not anointed — he had been given a mandate, but he was a man still under construction, not yet a complete man.
  • God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul — not a spiritual man, not a complete man.
  • Because Adam was still a living soul — living within himself and still attached to desires of self rather than God — he had no spiritual discernment to perceive what Satan was attempting.

"God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul. Not a spiritual man, not a complete man, but a living soul."

The Complete Man: Spirit, Soul, and Body in Alignment

  • For a man to become complete, the soul must function according to its design, the body according to its design, and the spirit according to its design — all three operating together.
  • A complete spiritual man is not ignorant of physical life — poverty is not spirituality, and neglecting the outward man is not a mark of holiness.
  • True spirituality produces fullness — the Lord Jesus ate with His disciples after resurrection, appeared in glory on the mount of Transfiguration, and manifested the nature of a man in completeness.

"To be truly spiritual, you manifest a man in His fullness. The nature of a man in its fullness."

The Cherubim, the Seraphim, and the Four Faces

  • Cherubim have four wings and are bearers and guardians of the glory of God; Seraphim have six wings, are full of eyes within and without, and are burning ones who dwell closer to the immediate presence of God.
  • Both Cherubim and Seraphim carry four faces — the face of a man, a lion, an ox, and an eagle — but these faces describe natures, not literal physical appearances.
  • The word seraph literally means "burning ones" because anyone who draws close to God — who is a consuming fire — begins to burn, just as Moses burned with the glory and the apostles received tongues of fire at Pentecost.

"The word seraph really literally means burning ones. Now why are they burning? Because God is a consuming fire."

"When a man begins to be close to God, you begin to burn. You begin to burn. You become on fire."

The Mandate: Create a People of Fire

  • The distinction between being on fire and having become fire is foundational — someone on fire can be put out, but someone who has become fire by nature can never be quenched.
  • In the realm of the Spirit, a complete believer does not appear merely as a man but as a man inside of fire — the same way Moses shone so brightly that Israel could not look upon him without a veil.
  • Heavenly dimensions — referred to in Scripture as realms of light — are reserved for spiritual men, and believers have been given the privilege to access the kingdom, which is the expanse of God's rulership and dominion.

"Create a people of fire. Don't make people on fire. Because somebody who is on fire can be put out. But somebody who has become fire, it has become their nature. They can never be quenched."

The First Face: The Lion

  • The lion is the first face — when God looks at a believer, He is pursuing the face of a lion, because Jesus is referred to first as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, not as a human being.
  • There are things in life a believer will never achieve unless the nature of a lion manifests through them — no spiritual battle can be won manifesting as a calf, an eagle, or an ox.
  • The spirit of boldness is the manifestation of the lion face, and the righteous are bold as a lion — God has not given His people the spirit of fear, and the spirit man possesses no DNA of fear.

"There are things in life you will never be able to achieve as a believer unless the nature of a lion comes and manifests through you."

"The wicked flee when no man pursues with. But the righteous are bold as a lion."

The Lion's Roar: Authority, Prophecy, and Warfare

  • When a believer walks with God, a roar from heaven comes out of them — demons that mock and refuse to yield do so because there is no lion's roar present, not because the name of Jesus lacks power.
  • The sons of Sceva could pronounce the name of Jesus and the demons answered, "Jesus we know, Paul we know, but who are you?" — because the manifestation of the lion was absent.
  • When you prophesy and declare from the position of God, you are manifesting the King of kings — the spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus, representing the authority of the Lion who knows everything.

"The lion had roared. Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken. Who can but prophesy?"

"You don't have the DNA of a lion that can push us out. So somebody can claim and pronounce Jesus, but a demon will not come out because the spirit of a lion is not manifest."

Speaking With the Authority of a Lion

  • God spoke and the universe exploded into motion — if you want to produce power, your speech must resemble what power looks like.
  • Jesus cast out demons with an authoritative voice — no wavering, no cute prayers — because He was manifesting the lion face.
  • God commands: let the poor say "I am rich," let the weak say "I am strong" — because the declaration from the lion position is itself the conduit through which the anointing is produced.

"If you want to produce power, even your speech must resemble what power looks like."

"Jesus spoke with authority. When He cast out demons. Hey! Come out! That's how Jesus spoke."

The Second Face: The Ox

  • The ox represents the ability to work — a Christian who does not function in the ox nature remains poor and unproductive regardless of their spiritual gifts or tongues.
  • In Scripture, the ox was associated with strength, farming, endurance, and the ability to pull — it was a prized asset because it produced fruit from the earth consistently.
  • Biblical figures who walked with God were working people: Ruth, Naomi, Esther, Joseph the earthly father of Jesus, and Peter — every one of them had a trade and were consistent with it.

"The second face is the face of an ox. Now if you look in scripture, an ox represents the ability to work. The ability to work. A lot of Christians are poor because they don't know how to be a working Christian."

Key Definitions

Spiritual — One who walks in the knowledge and understanding of the power of God, as opposed to merely identifying as a Christian by name.

Living soul — The state of Adam after creation: alive but not yet complete, still living within himself and attached to self-desire rather than the nature of God.

Complete man — A believer whose spirit, soul, and body are all functioning according to their God-given design, fully reflecting the image of God in all four faces.

Seraphim — Burning ones; angelic beings with six wings, full of eyes, who dwell in the closest heavenly sphere to the immediate presence of God and carry four faces representing the natures of God.

Cherubim — Bearers and guardians of the glory of God; angelic beings with four wings who carry four faces and operate in a different heavenly sphere than the Seraphim.

The four faces — Four manifestations of God's nature given to every human being: the lion (authority and boldness), the ox (work and endurance), the man (reasoning and wisdom), and the eagle (vision and spirituality) — each operating in a specific domain of life.

Key Takeaways

  • God has called you to be spiritual, not merely Christian — remaining at the level of a living soul leaves you without discernment, without authority, and without access to the dimensions God has reserved for His complete people.
  • A believer becomes complete when spirit, soul, and body all function according to their design — incompleteness in any one dimension produces vulnerability to deception and defeats that God never intended.
  • No spiritual battle can be won without manifesting the lion face — the boldness, roar, and authority of the lion is the only face that defeats evil, and demons will not yield to a name pronounced without that nature.
  • Productivity and fruitfulness require the ox face — spiritual gifts alone do not produce wealth or results in the natural realm; the anointing to work must be activated alongside the anointing to pray.
  • Becoming fire is greater than being on fire — a believer whose very nature has become fire through closeness to God cannot be extinguished by any force, whereas a believer who is merely on fire can be put out.

Reflection Questions

  1. In which of the four faces — lion, ox, man, or eagle — are you most consistently operating, and which face are you neglecting entirely in your daily life with God?
  2. When you pray and declare, does your voice and spirit carry the authority of a lion, or are you praying "cute prayers" that lack the boldness God requires to produce results?
  3. Have you been waiting passively for God to change your situation, when in fact God has already sent someone or something to instruct you — and you have rejected it in the name of waiting on the Lord?
  4. Are you a working believer — someone manifesting the ox face in your vocation and labor — or have you separated your spiritual life from your practical productivity and wondered why you remain unfruitful?
  5. Have you become fire, or are you only on fire? What specific steps are you taking to draw so close to God that His consuming nature becomes your own nature — not just a season you pass through?

Prayers and Declarations

Opening Prayer

"I feel the spirit of God. I feel the spirit of God. I feel the presence of Jesus. Lord Jesus You are glorified and You are magnified. You are a good God. You are an awesome God."

Type in the comments:

"I manifest the lion of the tribe of Judah."

Say this aloud:

"Let the poor say, I am rich. Let the weak say, I am strong."
