Thoughts Pt 2: The Spiritual Sources Behind Every Thought and Inspiration
Thoughts · Part 2 of 2
Every thought that enters your mind has a source — and discerning that source is the key to spiritual freedom.
No human thought is independent. Every idea, impulse, and imagination is influenced by a spiritual source — whether God, demonic spirits, or seducing and unclean spirits. Understanding where inspiration comes from is not a theological abstraction — it is the foundation of spiritual discernment, and the difference between walking in freedom and being led toward destruction.
Teaching Overview
- Number 2, please. The second place that inspiration comes to men. There's wisdom that is of the world.
From this stated second point, the full teaching framework covers the following:
- Every human thought is influenced by a spirit — God, demonic spirits, or human spirits — and no decision is independent of another personality or being.
- God primarily speaks through inspiration — thoughts, ideas, and imagination — not only through direct verbal instruction, and this is the same method by which all Scripture was given.
- The satanic and demonic world is the second source of inspiration, producing deceptive voices that lead people to believe they are on the right path while walking toward destruction.
- Seducing spirits are distinct from demonic spirits — they are spirits of the giants from Genesis 6 that seek to relive the lusts and behaviors they practiced in the flesh.
- Unclean spirits are spirits of death that drive people toward self-destruction, depression, and separation from life and God.
Key Distinctions
| God's Inspiration | Worldly/Demonic Wisdom | Direct Instruction | Seducing Spirits | Demonic Spirits | Unclean Spirits | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | Thoughts, ideas, and imagination initiated by the Holy Spirit | Wisdom that originates from the satanic or fallen world system | God speaking directly and explicitly | Spirits of the giants from Genesis 6 seeking to relive fleshly lusts | Fallen spiritual entities aligned with Satan | Spirits of death that defile the body and drive toward destruction |
| How it operates | Through thoughts, imagination, and inspired ideas that align with God's nature | Through voices and imaginations that convince people they are on the right path | God speaks clearly and unmistakably — "I am God" | They enter people and reproduce the behaviors they practiced in the flesh | They operate through broad spiritual influence, deception, and oppression | They separate people from life, purpose, community, and eventually push toward suicide |
| Who is affected | Believers tuned in to the Holy Spirit | Anyone who serves idols, crystals, or gods other than the Lord | Anyone God chooses to address directly | Anyone who comes under their pull, especially through sexual attraction or inherited spiritual ties | All of humanity is vulnerable without spiritual discernment | Anyone opened to death, depression, or who regularly contacts the dead |
| Key marker | Lifts, improves, and aligns with love for God and neighbor | Produces self-deception and a false sense of peace on the wrong path | Clear, unmistakable divine communication | Unexplainable compulsion toward sexual sin, addiction, or occult practice | Broad spiritual corruption without the specific reliving characteristic | Gravitates toward tombs, isolation, self-harm, uncleanliness, and death |
| Biblical example | Abraham led by inspiration to the Promised Land; Scripture given by inspiration of God | Deuteronomy 29 — idolaters convinced by their own imagination they are at peace | Moses on the mountain — God said, "Open your mouth and I will tell you what to say" | Spirits of Genesis 6 giants who took women by force and continue the same behavior | General demonic opposition throughout Scripture | The man in the tombs in Mark 5 — cutting himself, living among the dead |
| What it produces | Inventions, healing, Scripture, direction, and anything that improves the condition of man | Drunkenness of heart — self-deception, curse, and eventual destruction | Obedience grounded in clarity | Gender confusion, sexual compulsion, witchcraft, addiction — reliving the spirit's former flesh | Spiritual oppression and destruction through many avenues | Suicide, self-neglect, depression, separation from God and community |
The Nature of Thought and Spiritual Influence
- No human being's thoughts are independent — every decision is influenced by another personality, being, or spirit.
- The channel of thought cannot be stopped, because it is the same channel through which God also speaks.
- Spiritual maturity means learning to identify the source of a thought — whether it is God, a demon, a witch, or a seducing spirit.
"There is no human being's thoughts that are not influenced by a spirit. Whether it is the spirit of God or evil spirits or human spirits, somebody is influencing you."
Inspiration vs. Direct Instruction
- All Scripture was given by inspiration of God — meaning God communicated through thoughts, ideas, and imagination, not only through direct word-for-word speech.
- Inspiration is when something triggers the imagination to see or perceive something, and it is then expressed or recorded.
- The men of Scripture were so spiritually tuned that they could decode inspiration and distinguish whether it came from God, a demon, or an evil spirit.
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God. What's inspiration? What does it mean that God inspired you? It means God did not say word for word what you are saying. It came like thoughts. It came like ideas. It came like imagination."
How the Holy Spirit Leads Through Thoughts
- One of the primary ways the Holy Spirit leads believers is through thoughts and imagination — not only through audible or dramatic supernatural encounters.
- Abraham did not receive step-by-step verbal directions to the Promised Land — he was led by inspiration, going by faith until God confirmed he had arrived.
- Moses was not given every word to speak directly — he was inspired, and God promised to fill his mouth as he opened it.
"One of the ways that the Holy Spirit leads you is through your thoughts and then your imagination to understand what decisions to make."
The Ten Commandments and the Law of Love
- God gave Moses two commandments; Moses, inspired by God, added eight more — which is why they are called the law of Moses, not the law of God.
- Jesus revealed that the two greatest commandments — love God completely, love your neighbor as yourself — contain all the law and the prophets within them.
- The purpose of the ten commandments was to reveal humanity's inability to keep the law, pointing toward the higher law of love.
"People who try to keep the ten commandments, I'm sorry for you. You're supposed to be led by love. The law is love."
God as the First and Primary Source of Inspiration
- Every invention that has lifted the standard of human life is from God — every good and perfect gift comes from above.
- God inspires human creativity, medicine, technology, and discovery because He desires the condition of mankind to improve.
- Even when those receiving the inspiration do not know God, He uses the talent He placed in them — every good and perfect gift still originates with Him.
"Every invention that has lifted up the standard of life for every human being is from God. That is why the Bible tells you every good and perfect gift comes from above."
The Demonic Realm as the Second Source of Inspiration
- The second source of inspiration is the satanic and demonic world, which operates through a counterfeit wisdom distinct from God's wisdom.
- Those who serve idols, crystals, or any spirit other than God open themselves to a root that grows within them, producing self-deception and false peace.
- Demonic inspiration does not announce itself — it convinces its host that they are on the right path while leading them toward destruction.
"From serving other gods and idols — what does it do? It produces a voice in you. It produces something in you that begins to lead you astray. And you become drunken into your own thoughts thinking that you are on the right path, but he ate you on the wrong path."
The Danger of Crystals and Spiritual Objects
- There is nothing wrong with owning crystals as stones — God made them. The problem is attributing spiritual power, protection, or alignment to them.
- The moment a person assigns spiritual significance to a stone or object, a spirit has already communicated with them to bring that object close — and it produces deeper and deeper spiritual bondage.
- Attributing power to a stone moves a person's faith from God to the object, leading them toward a place of destruction.
"You don't understand that there is something else now speaking to you and moving your faith from God to something else. That is going to lead you in a place. So, destruction."
Seducing Spirits: Their Origin and Nature
- Seducing spirits are not demonic spirits — they are the disembodied spirits of the giants who were wiped out in Genesis chapter 6.
- They are defined by their compulsive need to relive the behaviors and lusts they practiced when they were in the flesh.
- The fallen angels from Genesis 6 are bound in everlasting chains in the bottomless pit — but the spirits of their offspring, the giants, continue to roam and operate.
"Seducing spirits are spirits of the giants that were wiped out in Genesis chapter 6. They always seek to relieve what they used to do on earth."
How Seducing Spirits Operate
- A seducing spirit that practiced addiction in the flesh will enter a person and drive them toward that same addiction, seeking to relive the pleasure it once had.
- A seducing spirit that practiced sexual immorality will produce insatiable lust in its host — the host remains unsatisfied because the spirit cannot truly experience the pleasure, but compels the behavior repeatedly.
- Seducing spirits are also the source of what are called spiritual husbands and spiritual wives — spirits of the Genesis 6 giants who took women by force and continue the same pattern in the spirit realm.
"If that spirit used to sleep around a lot, that spirit will enter you and it will bring you lust to want to sleep around a lot and you will not be getting satisfied. There is a why you will not be getting satisfied — because the spirit cannot get that pleasure, but it enjoys seeing you do that thing because it's feeling like it's relieving that action."
Unclean Spirits: The Spirit of Death
- Unclean spirits are distinct from both demonic and seducing spirits — they are spirits of death that defile the body and drive their host toward physical destruction.
- Anyone who is suicidal has an unclean spirit — the spirit of death is calling them toward the condition it represents.
- Depression is an unclean spirit because it progressively isolates, strips away purpose and pleasure, and slowly kills its host — until some arrive at the point of taking their own life.
"An unclean spirit is the spirit of death. It defiles the body to death. It drives you to be in a place of dying."
The Contagion of Death and the Living God
- People who regularly handle corpses become spiritually affected — a sensitivity to the value of human life diminishes, and something dark enters through repeated contact with death.
- Hell is described as utterly devoid of life — it smells of death and decay, because it is the complete absence of God who is pure life.
- Jesus was able to approach the dead and the unclean because He is God — He carries life and has authority to restore it, not be defiled by it.
"God is the God of the living. Remember God is equated to purity and holiness. Cleanness."
Key Definitions
Inspiration — God communicating through thoughts, ideas, and imagination rather than word-for-word verbal dictation; the method by which all Scripture was given.
Direct Instruction — God speaking explicitly and unmistakably, as when He told Moses, "Open your mouth and I will tell you what to say"; distinct from inspiration in its clarity and directness.
Seducing Spirits — The disembodied spirits of the giants from Genesis 6, who compulsively seek to relive the fleshly lusts and behaviors they practiced before they were destroyed.
Unclean Spirits — Spirits of death that defile the body and drive their host toward self-destruction, isolation, depression, and suicide; called "unclean" because contact with a dead body rendered a person unclean under the law.
The Law of Moses — The ten commandments as Moses delivered them: two given directly by God, and eight added by Moses through divine inspiration — which is why they carry Moses' name, not God's.
The Law of Love — The two commandments Jesus identified as containing all the law and the prophets: complete love for God and complete love for neighbor; the higher law that the ten commandments were pointing toward.
Key Takeaways
- Every thought has a spiritual source — No decision is made in a spiritual vacuum; discerning who is speaking is the foundation of a guarded mind.
- God primarily speaks through inspiration, not only direct instruction — Believers who wait only for an audible voice may miss the constant guidance God is already providing through thoughts and imagination.
- Every good and perfect gift — including invention, medicine, and technology — comes from God — Anything that genuinely lifts the standard of human life originates with Him, even when the instrument does not know Him.
- Seducing spirits are not demons — they are spirits of the giants of Genesis 6 — Misidentifying these spirits leads to ineffective spiritual warfare and continued bondage.
- Unclean spirits are spirits of death, and depression is one of their primary expressions — Recognising depression as a spiritual condition — not merely psychological — opens the door to true deliverance.
Reflection Questions
- When you sense an impulse, a strong attraction, or an idea that seems to come from within — do you pause to discern its source, or do you assume it originates from yourself?
- Are there any objects, practices, or habits in your life — crystals, rituals, things attributed with protective or spiritual power — that have gradually moved your faith from God to something else?
- Have you been walking in a false sense of peace about something, convincing yourself you are on the right path even as warning signs appear? What would it look like to genuinely submit that area to God's examination?
- In light of the teaching on seducing spirits and unclean spirits, are there patterns of lust, addiction, depression, or isolation in your life that may require spiritual intervention rather than willpower alone?
- What would change in your daily walk with God if you began treating your thoughts and imagination as a primary channel through which He speaks — and actively cultivated sensitivity to His inspiration?
