Walk Away: Why Divine Relationships Are God's System of Elevation

Walk Away: Why Divine Relationships Are God's System of Elevation

Teaching by Prophet Lovy L. Elias · Watch on YouTube · 19 April 2026

You cannot receive a grace you have never served — and every person God placed in your life was designed for your next level.

This generation is being preached out of its destiny. The dominant message — walk away, disconnect, leave people behind — is dismantling the very system God designed for promotion. Divine relationships are not inconveniences to escape; they are the architecture of heaven's elevation plan.

Teaching Overview

  1. God's system of elevation operates through divine relationships, not individual achievement or walking away from people.
  2. There are two kinds of people God recognizes: the one He has anointed and the one connected to the anointed.
  3. You cannot receive a grace you have never served — anointing is transferred through faithful, humble service.
  4. Pride destroys divine relationships and closes the transactions God designed for your increase.
  5. How you treat people is a direct measure of how you honour God.

Key Distinctions

The AnointedThose Connected to the Anointed
What they areA person directly assigned and called by GodA person whose elevation comes through proximity and service to God's chosen vessel
How they are set apartGod calls them — often face to face, not through ordination or self-appointmentThey are set apart by their willingness to serve and remain
Source of increaseTheir increase originates from God's direct assignmentTheir increase flows through the anointed as a storehouse
What qualifies themDivine calling — not ambition, gifting, or styleFaithful, humble service — even in menial tasks
What happens when separatedThe anointed continues in their assignmentThose connected collapse the moment they equalize themselves and disconnect
Biblical exampleElijah / AbrahamElisha / Lot
Direct Assignment from GodPlans Through People
What it isA calling God initiates directly with an individualGod's purpose delivered through a divine relationship with an anointed person
Who it applies toThose God has specifically set apart as storehousesThose whose next level is held inside another person's grace
How it is receivedThrough sovereign divine encounterThrough service, proximity, and humility toward the anointed
Common mistakeAssuming everyone operates on this levelAssuming you can receive through prayer alone what only comes through serving
ServingClaiming
What it involvesFaithful, consistent, often humbling acts of service toward the anointedDeclaring or receiving a mantle, grace, or anointing through prayer or proclamation
What it producesQualified access to the grace carried by the one you servedNothing — you cannot receive a portion of what you have never served
Biblical precedentElisha pouring water on Elijah's handsClaiming another minister's mantle from heaven without having served them
Heaven's responseHeaven accepts the demand of the one who served faithfullyGod does not honour a claim built on no service
True HumilityPride
What it looks likeServing God's servants on earth, even in menial tasksElevating your title above your service
How it is demonstratedAccepting a seat in the back, picking something up, serving without demanding recognitionSaying "Do you know what level of anointing I have?" when asked to do something simple
What it producesAccess to greater grace — "God gives more grace to the humble"Stagnancy, disconnection, and loss of divine transactions
God's responseGod opposes the proud but gives more grace to the humbleGod shifts the anointed person elsewhere, and someone else treasures the relationship
Divine RelationshipsSelfish Relationships
Their purposeA vehicle for divine transaction and spiritual transformationPersonal advantage and material gain
How they are identifiedThrough revelation — they may appear messy, challenging, or inconvenientThey are chosen based on what the person can visibly offer
What they requirePerseverance, service, loyalty even when the relationship is difficultNothing lasting — they are abandoned at the first sign of trouble
What they produceIncrease, elevation, anointing transfer, and generational impactStagnancy and missed destiny
Vertical Relationship (Child to God)Horizontal Relationship (Child Observing Parents)
What it isThe child's direct relationship with GodThe child's observation of the mother and father relationship
Which is more formativeLess immediately visible to the childMore formative — the child sees and absorbs more from what happens between parents
Implication for parentingRaising children in faith mattersHow parents relate to each other shapes the child's understanding of relationships and love

The Foundation: Praise as a Spiritual Weapon

  • Praise is not simply an expression of emotion — it is a hosting of God's presence.
  • God inhabits the praise of His people, meaning praise creates a dwelling place for Him.
  • Praise interrupts the enemy's agenda by silencing what is already speaking over your life.

"Praise interrupts the script that the enemy has said before you."

God's System of Elevation Is Through Relationships

  • The dominant cultural and even church message — walk away, disconnect, leave people behind — is dismantling the very system God uses to elevate His people.
  • Every person you have ever met was designed for your next level; dismissing divine relationships means missing the promotion God intended.
  • Some people have a direct assignment from God, but many others receive God's plan through people — and refusing to recognize this keeps them permanently stagnant.

"Every person you have ever met in your life was designed for your next level."

The Demonic Root of Broken Relationships

  • The inability to keep relationships is not a personality trait — it is a sign of heavy demonic attack.
  • Love covering a multitude of sins does not mean tolerating sin; it means shielding a person from public exposure while they are being restored.
  • When people use another person's failure as an occasion to publicly distance themselves, they reveal that they never understood divine relationships at all.

"Love covers you and shields you from the world seeing you while you're getting together."

Two Kinds of People God Recognizes

  • God recognizes two categories of people: the one He has anointed and the one who is connected to the anointed.
  • Bringing the same request to the same God and getting different results is not a contradiction — it is the evidence that proximity to the anointed carries a measurable spiritual weight.
  • Some people are delayed not because God is withholding, but because they are undermining the very person next to them who carries their next level.

"God recognizes the anointed and those who are with the anointed."

Storehouses and the Danger of Equalization

  • Not everyone is a storehouse — the church has been weakened by the false idea that all believers carry the same assignment and the same measure of grace.
  • When God sends an anointed person to you and you fail to recognize them, He will keep them near for a season — then shift them elsewhere, and someone else will treasure that relationship and begin to produce fruit.
  • The moment a person connected to an anointed vessel equalizes themselves — believing their increase came from themselves — they disconnect, and they collapse.

"We are the same in humanity, but not the same in purpose, not the same in assignment."

You Cannot Receive What You Have Never Served

  • Elisha's qualification before the kings was not his prophetic title — it was that he poured water on Elijah's hands; in proper translation, he washed Elijah's hands after he used the bathroom — that was his credential.
  • Telling yourself you receive someone's mantle through prayer without ever serving them is a lie you tell yourself; heaven does not honour a claim with no service behind it.
  • You grow in grace not by praying harder, but by partaking of another person's grace — becoming a partaker of what is greater than what you currently carry.

"You cannot receive a grace you have never served."

True Humility Is Demonstrated Toward God's Servants on Earth

  • It is easy to declare humility before a God you cannot see; the real test of humility is how you respond when one of His servants gives you a simple, even inconvenient instruction.
  • Pride is not always loud — it is revealed in refusing a seat in the back of a church, in demanding recognition for your title before offering service.
  • God watches interactions with people more than He watches prayer time; how you treat people is the direct measure of how you honour Him.

"You can only humble yourself to a servant that belongs to God, who is on earth. That is the measure of humility."

"How you respect people, how you interact with people, is a measure of how you honour God."

The Lot Warning: Equalization Destroys Divine Connection

  • Lot had no direct calling from God — everything that was flowing to Abraham was flowing to Lot purely by association, and Lot's increase was entirely sourced in Abraham's grace.
  • The moment Lot waited for Abraham to come to him instead of running to protect that relationship, he had already equalized himself — and that choice cost him his wife, his wealth, and his wisdom.
  • If you fail to maintain your servant posture toward the divine relationship God gave you, you will move toward your own Sodom — drawn by what looks good to the eye, not what God has called you toward.

"Abraham was the source. Lot wasn't."

Nothing Precious Is Found on the Surface

  • Receiving the deep things of God requires the same tedious, committed labor that a miner exerts to find gold — nothing of true value is accessible on the surface.
  • The reason most cannot benefit from divine relationships is that they do not understand the art of perseverance — the willingness to stay, remain, and wait until what God intends is fulfilled.
  • When you leave prematurely, you forfeit the treasure that was being excavated through the very relationship you walked away from.

"Nothing worth having is found on the surface."

The Danger of Ministry Dynasties

  • When pastors attempt to turn ministry into a dynasty — passing leadership to a son or daughter who is not anointed rather than following God's succession plan — their legacy dies.
  • God's succession plan is always based on spiritual anointing transferred through faithful service, not on bloodline or personal preference.
  • Those who serve faithfully and carry the genuine calling are often overlooked because of what leaders want, and the plan of God is missed entirely.

Raising Children: The Horizontal Shapes More Than the Vertical

  • The child's horizontal relationship — observing what happens between mother and father — is more immediately formative than the child's vertical relationship with God.
  • The worst thing that can happen to a human being is not to be born poor but to be raised wrong; when a child is raised right, there is a champion in that household.
  • Every parent holds the privilege and the weight of raising someone who can change the world.

"Everybody's looking for a plan, but God is looking for a man. Because within the man and the woman, God comes the plan."

Key Definitions

Divine Relationship — A relationship specifically assigned by God to carry a spiritual transaction; it is not defined by comfort or mutual advantage but by the transformation and elevation God intends to produce through it.

Storehouse — A person upon whom God has placed a specific anointing that He has designated as the source of supply for others; not every believer is a storehouse — storehouses carry a measure of grace that can be transferred to those who serve them faithfully.

Grace (in the context of service) — Not simply God's unmerited favor in salvation, but a specific spiritual measure or capacity that grows through partaking of another person's grace — you cannot grow beyond your current measure by prayer alone; you grow by serving someone who carries a greater measure.

Anointing — The specific empowerment of God upon a person for a divine assignment; it is not replicated by style, by proclamation, or by claiming a mantle — it is transferred only through faithful service to the one who carries it.

Love covering sin — Not the tolerance of sin or its concealment from accountability, but the shielding of a person from public exposure while they are being restored; love protects the dignity of the one being corrected rather than broadcasting their failure.

Equalization — The moment a person connected to an anointed vessel begins to treat themselves as the anointed person's equal rather than maintaining their servant posture; the biblical illustration is Lot waiting for Abraham to come to him instead of running to protect the relationship.

Key Takeaways

  • Divine relationships are God's system of elevation — Walking away from people is often walking away from the very promotion God designed for your life.
  • You cannot receive a grace you have never served — Proximity and faithful service to the anointed is not optional; it is the mechanism through which heaven releases transfer.
  • Pride closes divine transactions — The moment you equalize yourself with the one God sent to carry your next level, you disconnect from the source of your increase and begin to collapse.
  • God watches your interactions with people more than your prayer time — How you treat people is not separate from your spiritual life; it is the measure of how you honour God.
  • Nothing precious is found on the surface — Every valuable spiritual inheritance requires perseverance, depth of service, and the refusal to walk away when it would have been easy to do so.

Reflection Questions

  1. Is there a relationship in your life — past or present — that you walked away from too quickly? What would it look like to revisit that decision in light of this teaching?
  2. Are you currently serving anyone who carries a grace or anointing greater than your own — and are you serving them faithfully, or are you waiting to be recognized for what you already carry?
  3. Where has equalization crept into a relationship God gave you? Have you started expecting people to come to you rather than running to protect the connection?
  4. How do you treat people in ordinary, inconvenient moments — when asked to sit at the back, to pick something up, to serve in a way that feels beneath your gifting? What does your response reveal about your actual posture before God?
  5. What treasure have you been believing God for through prayer alone — that may actually be held inside a divine relationship you have not yet fully honored?
