The Potency of Blood Sacrifice: Why the Ground You Stand On Determines Everything
The Potency of Blood Sacrifice · Part 1 of 2
The blessing or the curse is not on you — it is on the ground, and understanding this changes everything.
God's blessing and curse operate on the ground — on the environment — not on individuals themselves. This teaching unlocks the foundational principle behind lasting increase, divine protection, and true deliverance: you must align with blessed ground, separate from cursed ground, and understand the blood sacrifice that makes it all possible. What you build, where you stand, and what you offer to God are not peripheral matters — they are the difference between a life that flourishes and a life that struggles despite every prayer and effort.
Teaching Overview
- God's blessing and curse operate on the ground — the environment — not on the individual person.
- Anything built on the wrong foundation has no capacity to last, regardless of how good it appears.
- Cain's offering was rejected because he brought from a ground God had already cursed.
- Jesus could be accepted as the ultimate sacrifice because He was not formed from the cursed ground — He came from above.
- To receive lasting increase, you must align yourself with blessed ground and understand the potency of blood sacrifice.
Key Distinctions
| Permissive Will | Perfect Will | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | God allowing something that is not His first choice | God's original, ideal intention for a person or situation |
| Example in Scripture | Jacob stealing the blessing; God accepting it because He wanted Jacob blessed anyway | God's intention that Esau, as firstborn, would have been given the blessing by Isaac |
| Who initiates | Man's action or deviation, which God permits | God's direct design and preference |
| Outcome | The result is achieved, but through a flawed or indirect path | The result is achieved in God's exact order and timing |
| Implication for believers | Many believers are living in God's permissive will without realising it | The perfect will of God requires full alignment, obedience, and correct foundation |
| Genesis Chapter 1 | Genesis Chapter 2 | |
|---|---|---|
| What it describes | The spiritual world transferring into the physical world | The physical manifestation of what was established in Genesis 1 |
| Man's creation | God creating man in His image — the spirit being formed | God forming man from the dust of the ground — the body being made |
| Nature of the account | The process of imagination and design | The process of packaging and making |
| Parallel example | An iPhone being created as a design in the USA | The same iPhone being sent to China to be physically manufactured |
| Blessing on the Person | Curse on the Ground | |
|---|---|---|
| What is affected | The individual — who they are before God | The environment — the soil, territory, and assignment |
| Can God reverse it? | What God has blessed He cannot curse — the person remains blessed | God can curse the ground, removing the ability to produce from it |
| Satan's jurisdiction | Satan cannot curse a person | Satan can attack the ground but cannot destroy what God has blessed |
| Effect on the believer | A Christian cannot be personally cursed | A Christian's ground can be cursed, producing thorns even as the blessing tries to grow |
| Resolution | Abiding in who you are in Christ | Aligning with blessed ground through proper sacrifice and obedience |
| Shepherd (Abel) | Farmer (Cain) | |
|---|---|---|
| Relationship to the ground | Does not work the ground — animals produce independently of cursed soil | Works directly on the cursed ground — must beat and struggle with the earth |
| Nature of the work | Supervises and creates an environment; animals reproduce without his effort | Must plant, moisturize, and labour against thorns and thistles |
| What the offering represents | Something from the living — unaffected by the ground's curse | Something drawn from what God has already cursed |
| God's response | Accepted | Rejected |
| Spiritual significance | Wisdom to move away from the cursed and offer from the blessed | Offering from a place God has already removed His blessing from |
| Human Wisdom | Spiritual Wisdom | |
|---|---|---|
| Source | Natural reasoning and intellect | Received from the Holy Spirit |
| Limitation | Can produce cleverness that becomes foolishness without humility | Requires surrender to God's ways and observation of the Spirit |
| Risk | Causes people to argue against Scripture without having studied it | Absent when Christians claim Jesus with their mouth but rebel against His ways in practice |
| Outcome without it | Destruction through lack of understanding — "my people perish for lack of knowledge" | Alignment with God's principles that produces lasting fruit |
| Earthly Origin (Man) | Heavenly Origin (Jesus) | |
|---|---|---|
| Formed from | The dust of the ground — already cursed material | Came from above — not formed from the ground |
| Blemish | Every person formed from the earth carries the blemish of the cursed ground | No blemish — unaffected by the curse on the ground |
| Capacity as sacrifice | Human beings could die for nations in capacity, but not in purity | The only sacrifice God could fully accept |
| Why God accepted Him | N/A | Because He was not from Earth, God could receive Him as a perfect offering |
The Foundation Principle
- Every good thing must be built on the correct foundation — anything built on the wrong foundation has no capacity to last.
- People are spiritually destroyed not because they fail to pray or fast, but because they have no understanding of what God has ordained.
- The ways of God are specific — the way of engaging with God is precise, and gifts alone cannot substitute for the correct foundation.
"Anything that is built on the wrong foundation has no capacity to last. It will initially and eventually crash and fall."
The Wisdom Gap Between Believers and the Kingdom of Darkness
- The children of darkness study and apply God's principles more diligently than many believers do.
- Christians can confess Jesus with their mouth while everything else inside them rebels against His ways — and this contradiction is why they suffer.
- The kingdom of darkness cannot create new principles — it can only exploit what God has already established.
"The evil ones pay more attention to God's principles than believers."
"Most Christians are foolish. This is not an insult, it is a fact."
The Curse Is on the Ground, Not on the Person
- God did not curse Adam — what God has blessed He cannot curse, so instead God cursed Adam's assignment, which was the ground.
- The snake was not originally on the ground; when the ground was cursed, God told the serpent it would now walk on cursed earth — a cursed environment is an open invitation to demonic activity.
- A Christian cannot be personally cursed, but their ground — their environment and territory — can be cursed, and a cursed ground chokes the blessing as it tries to grow.
"Thorns represent a curse and a curse prevents you from touching what is yours."
The Parable of the Sower and the Reality of Curse
- The seed that fell among thorns represents a believer who receives the Word and acts on it, but because they are under a curse, as the blessing grows the problems also grow — the curse is designed to choke the blessing.
- Thorns in Scripture are a visible sign of a curse — they do not prevent the blessing from coming, they prevent you from grasping what is already yours.
- Having a demon does not automatically mean a person is cursed — the only One with authority to bless and to curse is God; Satan does not have that jurisdiction.
"Satan cannot curse you. The only one who has the ability to bless and to curse is God."
Blessed Ground vs. Cursed Ground
- The blessing is released into the ground, not stored in a person — when someone leaves blessed ground, the blessing stays in the ground and they lose access to it.
- Lot became as wealthy as Abraham while on Abraham's blessed ground; the moment he separated and left, his increase disappeared entirely.
- A double-minded person can be physically present on blessed ground and still not receive its benefit — you do not get blessed by association alone.
"A double-minded man cannot receive anything from the Lord. You don't get blessed by association."
The Rain, the Ground, and the Mist
- From the time of Adam until Noah, rain never fell — the garden was watered by a mist rising from the ground, not from rain above.
- Plants in the garden grew not because of rainfall but because of moisture and because the garden was a finished, already-blessed environment God Himself planted.
- The blessing on the ground does not depend on natural conditions — a blessed ground produces even in drought, because the blessing is already in the land.
Why God Rejected Cain's Offering
- When Cain came to offer to God, he brought from a ground God had already cursed — his offering was inseparable from the curse on the soil he worked.
- Abel, as a shepherd, brought from the living — animals reproduce independent of the cursed ground, and their increase is not produced by beating cursed earth.
- A shepherd does not plant animals; he creates an environment and they reproduce without struggle — Abel's offering came from a realm untouched by the curse God placed on the ground.
"It was the ground that was cursed."
The Ultimate Sacrifice: Jesus From Above
- Every human being formed from the dust of the ground carries the blemish of the cursed ground — no earthly-born person could serve as an unblemished sacrifice.
- The problem with every previous sacrifice — Moses, Abel, the Levitical priesthood — was not their capacity to die but their origin: they were formed from cursed ground.
- Jesus was not formed from the ground; He came from above, and because He was not from the earth, God could fully accept Him as the perfect offering.
"Jesus was not a man from the ground."
Key Definitions
Cursed Ground — The state of the earth as God declared it after Adam's sin in Genesis 3:17; the ground's natural condition is to resist production and cause suffering to those who work it, producing thorns instead of fruit.
Blessed Ground — Territory or environment upon which God has released His blessing; it produces increase, opens doors, and repels demonic activity naturally — independent of the natural conditions surrounding it.
Blood Sacrifice — An offering made to God from something living and unblemished, brought from outside the cursed ground; the principle that governs God's acceptance, covering, and the release of blessing.
Permissive Will — God allowing an outcome that is not His first or perfect choice, while not actively opposing it — as when Jacob stole Esau's blessing and God accepted it because He intended to bless Jacob regardless.
Perfect Will — God's original, precise intention for a person or situation — the path that requires full alignment with His order, timing, and foundation.
Double-mindedness — The condition of being physically present in or associated with blessed ground while remaining spiritually uncommitted; it disqualifies a person from receiving what the ground carries, because a double-minded person cannot receive anything from God.
Key Takeaways
- God's blessing and curse operate on the ground, not on the individual — understanding this distinction determines whether you know where to plant yourself, what to offer, and why your environment matters more than your effort.
- Anything built on the wrong foundation will eventually crash — no amount of gifting, prayer, or activity can sustain what is built without the correct spiritual foundation beneath it.
- Cain's offering was rejected because he brought from a cursed source — what you offer to God and what you are offering it from matters; bringing from a cursed ground is not just insufficient, it is an affront to what God has already judged.
- Jesus is the only acceptable ultimate sacrifice because He was not formed from the ground — every attempt to find a substitute through earthly-born means fails at the same point: origin, and Jesus resolves that problem completely.
- You do not get blessed by association — proximity to blessed ground or a blessed person is not enough; double-mindedness and divided loyalty will nullify what the ground carries for you.
Reflection Questions
- Is the ground you are currently standing on — your environment, your associations, your territory — blessed or cursed? What evidence in your life points to the answer?
- Are you living in the permissive will of God or the perfect will of God? What compromises or shortcuts have you accepted that may be keeping you from His best?
- Like Cain, are you offering to God from what is already cursed — from your old ground, your old ways, your comfort zone — rather than stepping into what He is calling you toward?
- Where in your life are you experiencing the pattern of thorns — blessing trying to grow but being choked? What would it mean to address the curse on your ground rather than simply working harder?
- What specific step can you take this week to align yourself with the correct foundation — spiritually, relationally, or in your assignment — so that what you are building has the capacity to last?
Prayers and Declarations
"I decree and declare to somebody who is watching me. That the blessing will come upon you."
"May your ground be blessed after this message. Everything. May your ground be transformed after this message. Everything. May your ground be elevated after this message. Everything."
Capture this by the spirit of God. Capture this by the spirit of God. Capture this by the spirit of God. May your mind be open to really understand what is happening.
